Houston Calls – Behind the Gun
Houston Calls is a pop-punk band based in New Jersey.

They have this one song I really like, called Behind the Gun. It’s from their October 2008 album, The End of an Error. I was trying to look for its lyrics so I could sync it using MiniLyrics, but I couldn’t find them. This surprised me, because since the song’s so catchy, I thought for sure it was mainstream already. So, I made these. I hope they’re right. I mishear lyrics a lot, so.
Anyway, link will be up as soon as Mediafire stops being stupid.

Title: Behind the Gun
It’s like we know the words and melodies
but we’re singing them in half-time
I lean in closer
feel you breathing
your eyes look away
and I stop on a dime
But I believe
in the in the life that we seek
can far outweigh
the risk we take
Could this be everything that I wanted?
Could I be the one you were waiting for?
A different time and place
we can’t erase these footsteps anymore
A second glance,
a sight of smile,
we snuggled knowingly in hindsight.
We traffic nuances and sophistry
We steal our escapes making use of sleights
And damn the states
of our hearts and minds
as our resolve slowly unwinds
Could this be everything that I wanted?
Could I be the one you were waiting for?
A different time and place
we can’t erase these footsteps anymore
My eyes wide open
It’s poetry in motion
how our minds could let us pretend
My heart’s not in it
My mind goes by the minute
whether I wanna see how this ends
yeah, see how this ends
Could this be everything that I wanted?
Could I be the one you were waiting for?
A different time and place
we can’t erase these footsteps anymore
If we could start again
would we want to?
Then why are we always behind the gun?
If you’re only out for answers,
greener pastures
you’re not the only one
not the only one
You’re not the only one

Shared Tracks
So… I decided to share a few tracks I currently like. ![]()

1. Girügamesh – Glamorous Sky cover (Japanese)
The original song is Glamorous Sky by Mika Nakashima. I like that version too, but this I like more. It has a more rock-ish feel this way.

2. Mami Kawada – Triangle (Japanese)
Heh, so this is the Shakugan no Shana II ending theme. Which reminds me, I have to finish that series… >.>
Anyway, it’s from her “Joint” single. The instrumentals are light and pretty, but the song has a distinct, fun beat.

3. Mamoru Miyano – Itsuka (Japanese)
I started listening to his music since he’s one of the seiyus for some animes I watch (Death Note, Soul Eater, Ouran… lol) This song has a really “oriental”? feel to it.

4. Battle – Step By Step (Korean)
I hadn’t been into Battle until their new single came out. Their sound is a lot more hip-hop-ish than before. They sort of sound like Big Bang to me (in a good way, xD)

Featured Track
Earth in the Dark (Strings Version)
from EARTH IN THE DARK ~青空にむかって~ (Aozora ni Mukkate)
by Toshi
This is a very pretty Japanese song from Toshi’s new(ish) Earth in the Dark single. Toshi’s voice is very strong, yet it harmonizes well with the violins in the background. Somehow, his voice reminds me of the lead singer of BUCK-TICKs’? I tried this because the cover was pretty, but I found out afterwards that he was one of the members of X-Japan~ lol. Overall, the track is calming, yet uplifting too.
